What Makes Us Different

We’re not career coaches. We coach career transitions.

We’ve gone through our own career transitions, and it taught us that the process is much less painful when you can lean on other people for support and guidance. As we’ve both needed those people and been those people, we started Pivot People to make sure nobody has to go it alone.

I’m Jenny

I spent years climbing the ladder in Customer Success, startup after startup, title after title. On paper, I was crushing it. But in real life, I was burned out, anxious, and completely misaligned.

One day, during an all-hands meeting, a slide appeared: an image of Atlas holding up the world, with my face on it. It was meant to be motivational, but it hit hard. Somehow, I had taken on responsibility for everything and everyone. In doing so, there was no room for…me.

Not long after that meeting, I woke up in a full-blown panic attack. My body and mind were in crisis. This was my breaking point. So I stepped away.

I didn’t have a perfect plan, just a deep need to reconnect with what mattered. I wanted to be more present as a wife and a mom. I needed to rediscover what brings me joy and finally define success on my own terms.

Now, I help others do the same. We created Pivot People to be the kind of space I needed. Real support, not surface-level advice. If you’re feeling stuck, uncertain, or just plain tired, you’re not alone. You don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.

I’m Chris

In November ’22, the week the layoffs hit hard, every company I’d worked at made cuts. My resume? Let go by proxy. And my phone blew up.

Dozens of friends and former colleagues were suddenly navigating “what’s next.” We caught up. We processed. And not once did anyone call me for marketing advice.

That hit me.

I realized the value people saw in me wasn’t what I’d spent years trying to prove. They came to me for clarity, for momentum, for partnership. That moment cracked something open.

I didn’t have a plan. Just a gut instinct that there was something here. I kept talking to people, stayed curious, and started building. That’s when I teamed up with Jenny. And from those conversations, Pivot People was born.

Now I coach people through their own pivots — with honesty, empathy, and the belief that the only way out is through. I’ve lived the layoff. I’ve felt the misalignment. I’ve done the work of figuring out what’s next when the path ahead isn’t clear.

There’s no script for a pivot. But you don’t have to do it alone.
